What is all I need to hunt in Colorado?
I'm new to the game going with friends, say that perhaps we'll see elk bulls. I'm thinking bought a savage 30-06, but they have a lot of cash looking for a 4 around $ 400. I have only a hunting knife w / gut hook. What brand winter clothes do u recommend? What kind of boots? Sleeping bag? What else? I'm on a budget for what is best for my money? Perhaps a checklist or websites. Thanks 4 the help
Savage is a good choice. Start with a 3x9 40mm Nikon Pro Staff scope and use 165 or 180 grain bullets and bonded it will be good for moose, deer and bears. Boots are your preferences, but making decent rock and Hermans economic boots. Try to get waterproof, Thinsulate, because There is nothing worse than cold wet feet! Get two sets of thermal underwear, thick and thin weight poly polar poly. Note that the most important thing is to keep dry, so do not use cotton gets wet and will not stand the heat and does not dry quickly. I do not remember if Colorado Hunter Orange, but I would like to find an orange / Jacket Black cammo on sale now at a clearance rack. Pants are the same as for the rest, find something that is at least water-resistant cotton and NO. Wool or work Plush poly too. Whenever I have a few packets of paper hand warmers with me, when ever I'm in the field. They are inexpensive and last 8-10 hours, just found PE T-shirt with a pocket to put it in and was roasting all day. We could go to a checklist, but two knives, a small to work closely, in addition to Buck, and a way of sharpening. A good "Boonie" hat will provide shade for your eyes and neck to keep dry if it rains, if its real cold you can put a hat to see under it. two pair of gloves of different weights to deal with potential climate change again waterproof.
