Do you think this knife is worth it and if you are a good knife for EDC?
BTW EDC means that every day wear, here is the link to link knife http://www.remington.com/products/accessories/cutlery/fast_action_soft_touch_knives.asp also if you have any other suggestions please post. im in the price range of $ 10 - $ 30 maybe more if it is a good buy, im also looking to buy in Plattsburgh. I will not be doing any crazy work hard with the knife Cash only slightly cutting cutting ROP and the like.
short answer is no, provide details below. Whenever the manufacturer states that "440 Steel by type steel knife means 440A, which is the worst of every three steels in 440 groups. More information about steel knife steel knife FAQ here - http://www.zknives.com/knives/articles/knifesteelfaq.shtml and more here - http://www.zknives.com/knives/kitchen/misc/articles/kkchoser/kksteel.shtml From what I can see in the picture these are the locks online. There is an endless debate as to fixing of the blade, which is the safest, but Liner Lock is not the best option anyone. Lockbacks, framelocks, spindle lock, etc are better choices much. I know it sounds strange, but cutting cardboard and certain types of cables (manila, for example) is much harder on the razor's edge that wood carving such enemy. Both are very abrasive and edge wear faster. In fact, the use of both, cardboard and string to test edge retention of knives. I had the factory dull knives less than 100 inches of cardboard. Many of these knives will not even 1950-1960 cuts through 1 "manila rope before going bored. Therefore, the cut is not easy as you might think:) I'd recommend something 440C or better. Beretta makes lockback folders so very cheap, Benchmade knives are some lower end of the same steel, Kershaw has very good options and very reasonable prices, also Spyderco does if you like his style.
