Which is a better (quality) knife brand?
Gerber, Ka-Bar, or Buck? I have had a little tiny 3" gerber half serrated paraframe blade for a while now and today I got a Buck 285. Which is a better brand? I have never owned a Ka-Bar knife, but I have heard good things about them. I am in Northern California. Any other good brands you can recommend?
I forgot to mention that I am not using it for hunting or fishing, just for everyday activities and the like. Maybe whittling.
Another sub-question... should I sharpen my new 285 with a stone? I have a little sharpening rod, will that do?
They are all good knives. Beware though that Ka-Bar has some made in nations other than the US like Japan. I do not know if it makes a difference in quality but if its not made in America or Germany its hard to sell to some folks. The Ka-bar wart hog is US made. Ka-bar was an original maker of knives for the US marines. The Gerber Gator is a rough and tumble knife.
The most favored by collectors are CASE which are dated by the way with marks on the blade since 1970. Hen and Rooster, Boker, Kissing Crane, Camillus ( I have been wanting a (Yello Jaket 716) and dozens of others even higher up the food chain.
If you intend to collect sharpening or carrying a knife ruins the value. If you intend to use it then don't worry sharpen it the way you find is easier for you.

What is the difference between a Neo-Nazi, and your regular, everyday, "run-of-the-mill" Nazi?
Is it the tattoos? Is it an age thing? Neo-Nazi sounds so much more "cutting edge", than just plain old Nazi.
Nazis existed about 60 years ago. Many of them were German but not all Germans were allowed to be Nazis. Neo-Nazis are those idiots of today who think that Nazis were great and want to be just like them. Most Nazis of yesteryear, would spit on the Neo-Nazis as the low-lifes that they are. And that's saying a lot coming from other low-lifes.
