Cut my finger with a knife, should I get the stitches?
I'm a mid-twenties young adult but I definitely have a terminal fear of the doctors...this morning I was cutting slices of sausage when I slipped and nicked my finger pretty good with a slice. It bled a lot and is still kind of bleeding but I have properly bandaged and cleaned the wound. Should I bother with stitches? How long should I wait before I need to seek medical attention if it keeps bleeding?
A cut over a joint stops bleeding faster and heals nicer/faster if it is stitched. Holding the wound edges together with a strip works too but that's more prone to fall off since we keep moving our fingers so much.
