Need help choosing a fixed-blade knife?
I'm looking for a good, tough sheath knife that can take whatever I can throw at it, specifically for camping, hiking, or survival. I've narrowed it down to either the short (five inch) Kabar or the old USAF pilot survival knife. I like the simplicity and the history behind each and they are both tough as nails but I need to pick one. If you've ever owned either of these, what was your experience and how well did it hold up?
I think I would go with a KaBar. I got one from BladeOps.com and sure do love it. It is solid, strong, and can do just about anything I need. But, I also have an Al Mar SERE Operator. Listen, I know you have narrowed your choice down to two. This knife is incredible. You should at least check it out and see what you think.
