Hello, I train in Ninjutsu. If I were to coach out with my ninja-to (sword) I was arrested?
I live in the UK and just wanted to know what that the law was on this issue. Ya im not going around killing people and only want to do this solely to education.
The police never liked that they practiced with their swords in the parks here in the U.S. We have had numerous occasions when police officers charged with numerous weapons at us, despite my teacher was well known and very competent - no injuries during practice sword. Everything was nice and legal, though perhaps a bit cheeky. My teacher stopped accepting the police officers to students because of this and mysteriously began to receive a hell of a lot of traffic fines after being cut. Of course, five officers with weapons drawn, were required to issue a ticket for a taillight that was out. (Sigh ..) Edit: Some garage teachers / students have nowhere else to practice if the membership fees and the local dojo particular dogmas are a problem. If the police see you swinging swords in an alley that is much more likely to get harassed with no recourse. It is much safer to do it with witnesses around. The focus was not the goal. Sad, but true.
