Readers who have been fortunate to enjoy fresh tuna know that there is a big difference between a canned tuna fish sandwich and a fresh tuna steak salad grilled! Tuna is delicious grilled, blackened, or as sushi. Those of us who still love tuna salad can be enjoyed tuna from the can or use leftover grilled tuna to create only a tuna salad and delicious with a unique flavor.

For striped bass or high quality "Rockfish" as table fare, it is important to take care of the fish before cooking. The fish should be chilled in ice and set flat until cleaned. Once the fish is home, can be rinsed thoroughly and filleted. There are several methods of cleaning and each angler learns their favorite style. Fish can be scaled and the skin left on, filleted and then skinned or skin can be cut around the perimeter of the fish and pulled off with pliers. The skin-on version is nice when baking or grilling smaller fish. Skinning the fish before filleting has some advantages, the speed being more important. Filleting
fish and cut off the skin of darker meat and leaves the highest quality, although some fish is lost in the process.

Scup are excellent table thing. Fish are very slippery! The best thing is to thoroughly wash and lay out on a rough surface. A sharp knife fillet is needed to cut around the outline of the fish, making the front cut behind the head and pectoral fin. Then the skin can easily be removed with pliers and peeling from head to tail.

Once the skin is not fish fillets may be normal. There are some bones of the ribs can be cut after filleting. The flesh is firm, white, smooth taste. Wash fillets and stored in ice immediately or refrigerate. Scup is delicious fried, baked or grilled.

What is the difference between the linerlock, framelock, and have in lockback knives?

I have no idea what is particularly framelock. Is one better take than the other?

Linerlock has a piece in the center of the blade that holds the blade in fixed position. You have to leave this way in order to close the knife. Linerlock framelock is similar to that a piece of the knife is used to keep the blade down, in time here, however the current structure remains in place. (See Kershaw "onion") lockback folding blade is usually used a button to retract the blade.

Responsible for the old samurai sword in Japan would make its leaves with many layers of laminated steel. This process is called "Honsanmai" which means three layers. This guy is steel is perfect because you get a hard and sharp edge. Combine that with softer, more flexible steel on the outside and has the beginning of a large knife.

Cold Steel is the application of this principle in his series of "custom" knives.

I was able to get a good deal on one edge and here recently Caledonian are my thoughts:

What I like about the knife:

1. San Mai steel is a big edge retention with less fragility.

Not only was my hair shaved Caledonian edge of the box, I know that is not likely to break under conditions of hard use as few sheets of carbon released.

2. The Edge Caledonian looks and feels like a custom knife. Just a sharp edge, which is good because you do not have to worry about getting confiscated in most of cities.

3. The blade is hollow ground. This means that the backbone of thickness becomes thinner as you get closer to the edge.

This feature Caledonian gives a razor sharp edge, which is perfect for precise cutting.

4. The jimping (thumb grooves) in the column on the sheet feels good in your hand. This is also useful for shaving thin slices.

5. Cold Steel uses a super hard "lock line" that has been proven to hold more than 100 pounds.

No need to worry about getting cut fingers!

What I do not like about the knife:

1. With a suggested retail value of $ 419.99, Cold Steel Caledonian's Edge is rather expensive.

Overall:

The cold Steel Caledonian Edge is a great utility knife and everyday use.

It also looks very impressive and well worth the price of U.S. $ 420.

Now you can get a Caledonian Edge for $239.
