What is the best way to remove epoxy? Only professionals!?

I have a sword (a Japanese sword) you want to replace the Tsuba (guard hand) a. Unfortunately, the blade is epoxy on the handle. What is the best way to remove the resin with out damaging the sheet? or should I give up Tsuba and keep the ugly and inaccurate?

For the uncured epoxy, acetone / MEK can be used as a cleaning compound. Heating to 350 ° F, cured epoxy products may scrape. Texas knife laws?

Wanted to buy a Ka-Bar Commemorative Knife (my grandfather fought in the Vietnam War), but I realized it was more than 5 1 / 2 inches (which is about 7 inches). Is it legal for me to buy the knife, if I'am not going to use for any outdoor use and only as an embellishment?

you can not carry it in the car. 6 inches is ad legal limit, if you feel more time for his murder. but if you get it and take it home and set you right.
