What is the best way to remove epoxy? Only professionals!?
I have a sword (a Japanese sword) you want to replace the Tsuba (guard hand) a. Unfortunately, the blade is epoxy on the handle. What is the best way to remove the resin with out damaging the sheet? or should I give up Tsuba and keep the ugly and inaccurate?
For the uncured epoxy, acetone / MEK can be used as a cleaning compound. Heating to 350 ° F, cured epoxy products may scrape. Use a scraper because bronze is softer than steel and should not scratch the blade. Here is a page that shows another method: http://www.crosslinktech.com/FAQ/Removing 20cured 20products.htm%%
