What is best carbon steel or stainless steel of a knife?
I am buying a knife to my future husband for their wedding gift and was wondering what is best carbon steel or stainless steel?
carbon steel is my choice. Google "carbon steel vs. stainless steel knives" for more information. If you buy make sure it is stainless alloy that will have an advantage .. many a bright knife is just a boring failure. Plates carbon will not rust unless they stay laying in the wet. I was having this conversation with a friend once. So I took a knife and hit the edge of knives against me with one blow of light .. His had a 1 / 16 "nick in it, mine, not even a mark on it. I suppose this is not a kitchen knife.
