How can I prevent mold / mildew from forming on my roof shingles? What should I attach to metal peak area and how to fix?
I heard that you can attach a strip of metal (zinc, galvanized, copper, or?) Just below the ridge tile roofs to reduce mold formation. What should I use and how do I connect and how much you are exposed to rain? thanks
zinc strips about three inches wide and 4 feet long. slide upper edge of the strip at the bottom of a course of shingles near the ridge, end to end by lifting protect each tile carefully enough for some put some nails in each and then put the tile down on the nails .... you may need caulking gun with a touch of tar to reattach these chips ...... so the wind does not pick up .... This leaves quite exposed because of the chemical reaction needed to prevent mold and moss ......
