It's a Japanese katana and sharper than Solingen straight razor?
I very much doubt. Please note that I am a big fan of the katana. It's arguably the best sword made history. They were incredibly sharp. However I do not think it would have been sharper than a razor. The sword is much thicker and simple geometry would tell you that the angle of the edge would be greater than that of a razor. It would have been difficult to get the edge of the "knife" a weapon that way. All that said, the katana would cut deeper and longer and straighter than a razor. Give and take, what we lose in the "sharpness" compared with a razor to do in many other places. A katana is not the sharpest tool cutting is simply the sharpest sword.
