slipjoint keeping a knife?
I recently began collecting knives model farmer from various manufacturers. I can rotate each of them in and outside the daily rotation, and uses them to make pictures of all cut and cut fruit at lunch, to clean fish and small game, while camping and such .. I'm not worried about rust, but more about how to preserve the longevity of the action, or inside the razor workinngs ... Thank you.
I use a mixture 30 wt.non detergent motor oil base oil mixed with Teflon (spot 50, lubricant hard, etc..) Mix 50/50, worked very well in the area of spring by moving the blade open / close until it works in good and clean to remove excess, and repeat several times, handpieces in motion and keep the wear

What kind of knife I reach the age of 12? "
I really want the knife CRKT (Columbia River Knife) (I think that is what is flame)
CRKT is a good brand. Cold Steel, Benchmade, Buck, Gerber, all are good too. There are a lot of very good manufacturers, and some other very badly. (if in a tank at a petrol station cash register, is fine for a tackle box.) you get what you pay for. everything you receive, take care of him and will serve you well. get a sharpening stone and learn to use it, it is easier to maintain an advantage to get a new one. If you want a classic folder, I would Buck suggested model 110, is the quintessential lockback knife. and not outrageously prices. i got my first knife at age 5, my first to ax 4. first knife at 10. 12 is too young for a knife.
