The Skyline Kershaw pocket knife is one of the best knives valued in the market today. Kershaw continues to offer an amazing product at a price that most people can afford. This review will cover the positive aspects of the knife Skyline and the few negative aspects.
What I like about the knife:
1. Kershaw Skyline sheet gives a very nice size considering how the knife is light. This is due in part to the fact that there is only steel lining on one side of the handle.
2. The Skyline comes with a G-10 and textured handle. This identifier is good because it gives sufficient grip to be effective, but not so much texture that breaks the pockets.
3. Made in the USA! It feels good to support the production of Latin America and the knifemaking seems to be a slowly dying breed with the countries of China, Taiwan and Japan becoming more common in the knife scene.
4. Kershaw Skyline does not have the assistance of openness, but it opens so fast as some of Kershaw's spring loaded offerings. Very good delivered either by opening the thumbstud or trademark of Kershaw flap make this a really nice knife.
What I'm not so crazy about:
1. My sheet has been developed minor scratches due to friction against steel liner when I open the knife.
2. The Skyline has no thumb or jimping slots as they call for cutting support.
3. The pocket clip can be adjusted up or tip-tip bring down, but does not allow for lefties.
Overall:
The Skyline Kershaw pocket knife is an excellent value for money. I paid $ 40 for mine at a retail store in Texas, but you can find even cheaper. Do not waste time with Smith and Wesson or Gerber, Kershaw's horizon is a much better value in my opinion.
I was trying to open a can with a cheap pocket knife, and swoop down on me and cut my finger pinky knuckle just below the middle. I can still bend the finger, but when I see some bone off. The pain is not bad at all, probably because it was a cut very clean. I am applying pressure, and is almost stopped bleeding, but my girlfriend took my car, so I'm home alone and no way to get to the doctor. Everything else appears to be normal. The bones are still in place and everythig, I just had a very deep cut. So my question is ... Do I have to go to the doctor for this, or I treat myself? Thank you very much for all the help.
