Are the original Old Timer knives any good?

I was wondering if Old Timer knives made by the original company [Schrade] in the USA not China were any good?

Old Timers are very good knives. I don't know about any made in china, as I've got three knives that I've owned for at least 30 years.

I believe those are american made, all say schrade on the blades. I've got a trapper model, a large folder and a skinner.

This summer I begin my journey in the art of cutlery. One of the questions I ask myself is "why knives? Do not fight them, I do not another thing to use for utilitarian purposes. Is it symbolism? Is it the sheer coolness of the gun in his hand? Is the bells and whistles that come with Megabowie Sport3000? What it draws you collect knives? To answer this question, I went ahead and asked several of my friends why pick what kind of knives and knives of what they like to collect. As for me, I love my knives Rambo.

My friend Jimmy, a knife lover says "I collect knives practice no, fancy sheets. The Klingon blade was a gift from my brother.

The "pure freshness" of the weapon has a lot to me, however. I have a series of plates cold steel as they are very sturdy and look great to boot. "

Well said Jimmy. Now let's hear it from Rand, my childhood friend who has a large collection of knives. He says: "Collecting knives for me is like picking up anything else. Once you continue the search for the" perfect "sheet. Pick up mostly folders: Microtech autos, cold steel, Emerson, Spyderco, etc."

John, who is also a knife enthusiast says "I have been collecting for years and for simple reasons: I love crafts and especially since I consider Knife knives in the symbol of humanity, The first tool, something beautiful and primary education. I have not found the blade is perfect but I keep on collecting. "

My friend loves Cody Randall knives. He says: "I collect knives RANDALL mainly due to the craftsmanship and the finest materials available. There is a labor RANDALL not find in a factory producing knife, and are a good investment. "

Finally, a very different view of my best friend Rocky. He says: "I like Western U.S. Boulder, Colorado fixed blade knives ..... the best Buck, Case XX, Gerber, Schrade, Camillus, KINFOLKS, Imperial and Remington are some of the other brands I collect ..... no pass more than $ 60 for a knife. .. I save the bucks for my collection of weapons "

Well there you have it. Now you know why men collection of knives love so much.
