What is the best type of practice Bokken?
I am thinking of buying a bokken (sword samurai katana through practice). I searched across the web and I found hundreds of stores that sell some really cheap, others very high. I do not think spending more than $ 25-30 for one (since its just for solo practice). I'm thinking of white oak. I will practice alone, but I want that one can be a little being beaten.
The white oak is fine, but is a little light. If you want some contact - applachian walnut is good but not cheap. If contact is required, but the bokuto not be "in way of the sword "then the Chinese wax wood is great. denser woods are heavier generally more expensive - generally 60 to 100 dollars, but it is better to work alone because they are closer to the sword's weight.
