The Arcitech SOG folding knife is attractive enough to be coveted by collectors worldwide knife. It is also practical enough to count as a knife for everyday use. Here are my thoughts on the knife:
What I like about the knife:
1. Crafted from VG-10 San Mai steel, the Arcitech gives an excellent compromise between edge retention and flexibility. Its inner layer (edge) is made from super tough VG-10 steel, and there is a layer rolled steel softer than 420 on each side. This feature also helps protect against oxidation.
2. Arco rugged SOG-blockade is known for strength and durability. You need not worry about the failure of blocking as blocking arc is made to last a lifetime.
3. At 3.5 inches long, clip point blade style is practical and legal. You should not get in trouble for law enforcement in the exercise of Arcitech in your pocket.
4. My knife came hair shaving sharp from the box and has no problem keeping its edge. The jimping or thumb grooves on the back of the worksheet helps you to make precise cutting, or tearing through something when you're in a hurry.
5. You have the option of jigged bone or carbon fiber handles. Both feel great in his hand, and should last the same amount of time. The carbon fiber version is black, while the jigged bone handle has touches of red.
What turns me off:
I wish that was ambidextrous pocket clip to allow for left lead.
Overall:
With a suggested retail value of $ 425, the Arcitech SOG knife is not your average. Everything that goes on that the quality is high and reliable. I think the perfect Arcitech for a day or coworker to become the next member of his collection of knives.
